Welcome,
I'm not big on body stuff (Knowledge wise) sounds like some welding and fab work involved, but plenty of guys here who can advise.
Best info I can give is Pics PICS PICS, especially of the damaged spots.

Re: Just another new guy
Welcome Josh,
Hopefully you can find a Celica before long. Took me over a year before I got the one I did.
A couple of months ago it seemed like tons were for sale.
GL on your search,
Pete

Welcome,
It looks like you have some work ahead of you, but nothing that hasn't been tackled a hundred times or more by people on this site.
In the end it will all be worth it.

Re: Glad to be here from Utah
That is a good idea I hadn't thought of, so you are saying drill the gas bumper shocks and compress and weld them or just compress them. Thanks for the tip. You know I'm not sure, I've seen the end result, but didn't know how they did it. If you check around the Project posts and find someone that ...

Re: Hey!
Welcome! I'm also pretty sure hinges from a 76-77 will not fit earlier models. The hoods and front fenders are different, as the front end is longer on those years, also flatter along the front too. Never heard the 75 hinges wouldn't fit a 71-74, I would have thought they would, but then again they ...

Re: 77 Celica GT coupe 22r project
Welcome Josh, A real diamond in the rough there. You engine looks and sounds a lot better than the tired old one I'm using. :2thumbs: It should be pretty peppy with that setup, could be the carbs are jetted wrong (Ask someone who knows more, as I'm no mechanic), but that would be one guess. What set...

Re: Return to Celica
It looks to be in pretty fair shape.
I've seen a lot worse than that brought back to glory. It is now a matter of time and money.
GL with your restoration, keep us updated with a posting in the Project section.

Re: Glad to be here from Utah
My name is Spencer I am from northern Utah. I bought my first Cleica at 16. My dad owned a 74 cope when he was younger and when I say a pic I knew I wanted one. My chance came when I noticed an ad in the Ogdan Standard which read "Notice of sale of impounded vehicles" and a long list, one...

Welcome, It will be nice for someone besides me to ask some super noob questions :ohyeah: As for Smiley's watch the Parts for Sale Forum & E-Bay. Real ones, Chrome biggrin Don't come often or cheap, and I think they are harder to come by for the 77 Liftback, others who own those can attest. Fibe...
